Since 2017, FVA carries out in Manaus the project “Aula Digital”, an initiative of Telefónica Foundation and the Banking Foundation La Caixa (Spain) which reaches 33 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Manaus was the first city in Brazil to receive the project, which seeks to create better opportunities for children by incorporating technology and new teaching and learning methodologies in public classroom.
The
capital of Amazonas has the third largest municipal education network
in the country in structure size, and its peculiar geography meets
the central objective of “Aula Digital”: to reach the most remote
areas of the city. The project serves approximately 265 elementary
schools in urban, rural and riverside areas, in partnership with the
Municipal Education Department (SEMED).
Through this project, educators and representatives of SEMED’s technical staff receive training on topics such as innovative management, the role of the teacher in the 21st century education and learning environments, among others. Participating schools receive technological kits with notebook, tablets, router, projector and projection screen for carrying out innovative activities.
